Every Canada Day, fireworks light up the night sky and send countless pets into panic. For pet insurance brand Pets Plus Us, we saw an opportunity to reclaim this tradition on behalf of every anxious animal across the country.

We created Reclaim the Skies, Canada’s first pet-friendly silent drone show. Instead of loud explosions, 200 synchronized drones illuminated the Toronto skyline with animated portraits of real Canadian pets, submitted by their owners.

The result was both spectacular and empathetic: a celebration where pets could finally look up without fear.

The story took off online, sparking national conversation about the future of fireworks. Coverage included CTV, Global News, CityNews and Now Toronto, all praising the event’s message of compassion and innovation.

By turning Canada Day into a night pets could enjoy too, we helped Pets Plus Us own a new emotional territory: not just caring for pets, but celebrating with them.
